This delightful three bedroom self-catering face brick cottage is situated in the old village of Onrus, close to the more famous town of Hermanus. Click for more information.
The Francolin Close houses are set with the backdrop of an impressive mountain at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. The Hermanus golf club is only 3 minutes drive away.
The area is also renowned for birdwatching, absailing, and fishing.
There is a craft market in Hermanus on Saturdays.
Hermanus is the premier viewing site of the Southern Right Whale. The whales comes to the bay to give birth (known as calving) between the months of July and November. They make for a magnificent sight as they create huge sprays and display their beautiful tails. This can be seen from the cliff paths. For the more adventurous, shark diving is offered in nearby Gansbaai.
Wineries – The famous Hamilton Russell and Bouchard Finlayson wineries are within 10-15 minutes drive, and Stellenbosch a little further, but a must to visit.
Capetown Airport is approx 100km away (approximately one hours drive).
Hermanus has plenty to offer the holiday maker. There are stunning views of the Overberg mountains, which supports the South African flower the Protea and Fynbos. The bays are dramatic and there are small beaches to be found in the coves. There are plenty of good restaurants to be visited, art shops to browse in, and breathtaking views.
